Maya Qadan

Maya is a third-year student at the University of Toronto studying International Relations and Political Science. Her academic interests include American foreign policy, political economy and cybersecurity.

Oya Darici

Oya is in her fourth and final year at the University of Toronto double majoring in International Relations (International Law and Human Rights focus) and Political Science with a minor in European Studies. She is highly involved in human rights advocacy. She is the Executive Director of UN Women UofT, and is a community organizer for Amnesty International Canada. Oya is passionate about issues surrounding environmental justice and gender equality. Her recent research focuses on the intersection of religion and human rights. In her free time, she likes to paint or play the piano.

Sima Kootar

Sima Kootar is an incoming second year student at the University of Western Ontario and is pursuing a degree in Political Science with a minor in Transitional Justice and Post Conflict Resolution. She is particularly interested in the examination of mass atrocities such as genocide and civil war. She is thrilled to join the team at CCR2P.

Natalie Schaller

Natalie is a recent graduate of McGill University, where she studied Honours Political Science and Islamic & Middle East Studies. This fall, she will be beginning her master's in International Relations and Diplomacy at Leiden University. She has developed a passion for foreign affairs, diplomacy, and atrocity prevention in her academics and past professional experiences. More recently, having investigated how R2P has influenced the doctrine and practice of atrocity prevention in her undergraduate thesis, she is very interested in working to help advance the R2P principle. She is excited to spend the summer with CCR2P! 

Hailey Jarvis

Hailey Jarvis is a recent graduate of Dalhousie University. She completed a combined honours degree in Political Science and International Development Studies, with a minor in Law. Her honours research took a focus on the viability of the African Union as an effective enforcer of R2P principles.
