Angelina is entering her final year at the University of Toronto pursuing a double major in Ethics, Society and Law, and Peace, Conflict and Justice with a minor in History. Passionate about refugee empowerment and labour rights, she is involved in several refugee advocacy organizations such as the World University Service of Canada and Matthew House Toronto. Specifically, she is interested in R2P’s prevention and rebuilding components that are integral to maintaining sustainable peace. Moreover, she is curious to explore how R2P can continue to evolve and account for shifting environmental and technological considerations worldwide. Angelina is thrilled for the opportunity to expand her understanding of R2P this summer and to learn from her incredible team!

Noah Lukas Verhoeff

Noah Verhoeff is entering his second year at the University of Toronto, Trinity College, with majors in Peace, Conflict, and Justice (PCJ), and Ethics, Society, and Law (ES&L), and with a minor in History. Noah is passionate about the protection of human rights, global security, and governance on the global stage. Noah is currently a Research Assistant for Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, as an author mobilizing knowledge of Anishinaabe teachings. As well, Noah currently works as a Natural Language Processor for a research project on Early Modern Ethiopian trade and material culture with the Department of Historical and Cultural Studies at the University of Toronto. Noah is looking forward to researching the role of the Responsibility to Protect in current international issues.

Tanmaya Ramprasad

Tanmaya Ramprasad is entering her third year and majoring in International Relations and English at Trinity College. She works closely with YSYF, an NGO based in Ghana on topics of women equity, youth development and decolonizing the African narrative. Additionally, she serves as the managing editor at University of Toronto's HerCampus Chapter. With a special interest in women and youth development and restructuring global narratives, Tanmaya hopes to further her knowledge on the R2P principle and its advocacy. 

Isabelle Buchanan

Isabelle is heading into her fourth year at the University of Toronto, where she is completing a double major in Economics and Peace, Conflict, and Justice. She is interested in studying the intersection of human rights and international law, through an economic lens. Previously, Isabelle has worked for a few NGOs that focused on refugee rights in Canada and LGBTQI+ rights in conflict areas. Along with interning for CCR2P, this summer she will be working at the NATO Research Group, conducting research on China’s regional power in South Asia, and with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Isabelle hopes to her work by working in human rights law upon graduation.

Stephanie Fadel

Stephanie Fadel is a second-year undergraduate student College at the University of Toronto, majoring in Political Science and Criminology and Sociolegal Studies and minoring in Women and Gender Studies. Having been raised in Mississauga, Ontario, she has always loved the dynamic and diverse city as well as the opportunities that exist within it. She has a great passion for human rights, gender equality and social justice advocacy worldwide and is interested in Canada’s foreign actions and relations.
